If you like stories about love at first sight—and stories about the founding of the state of Israel—this film is for you. Dan Wolman’s film is akin to a classic Hollywood-style romance set in turbulent times. The reason it works is because it’s true.

Based on a one-woman show created by noted Israeli actress/director Pnina Gary, "An Israeli Love Story" is centered on her real-life romance with Eli Ben Zvi, son of the second president of Israel.

They meet on a bus, fall “head over heels” and find their love immediately put to the test by the turbulent state of affairs in post-WWII Israel. Many of us are familiar with the history of Israel’s early days. This film taps into the humanity and personal connections behind the politics.
