Come along with pianist Francesco Lotoro as he rediscovers and performs music most of us never knew existed, let alone imagined hearing: music composed during the Holocaust.

In a film supported by the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah, we see Lotoro meet with these composers and discuss their creativity and the incredible fortitude that enabled them to continue being artists under horrific circumstances.

Lotoro has archived over 4,000 pieces of music—folk songs, operas, liturgical works, even swing music. Bringing this sublime music to the world is Lotoro’s mission, and this film celebrates the story of his life’s work.

Contains some concentration camp re-enactments and Holocaust footage.

Awards: Audience Award, Pessac History Film Festival (France)
