The Guardian calls this a film “an intelligent Communist bromance,” which should tell you that you’re in for something special.

Raoul Peck—who directed the Academy Award -nominated documentary "I Am Not Your Negro"- focuses this film on Marx's most famous work, "The Communist Manifesto," as much as on the author’s reaction to the Industrial Revolution.

"The Young Karl Marx" is a wonderfully-shot period piece which will help you more fully understand Marx’s thinking as well as shed light on the lifestyles and loves of the people who helped change the world in their time.

Guest Speaker: Introduced by: Alyssa Sepinwall, Professor, History Department California State University - San Marcos
