Tagines & Couscous: A History

Culinary Historians of San Diego will present Tagines & Couscous: A History,” featuring Kitty Morse, at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library. Morse will enlighten and entertain her audience with the story of Moroccan cuisine and culture.

Kitty Morse’s career as cookbook author, cooking teacher, television host, food and travel writer and tour organizer spans close to 30 years. She has authored eleven cookbooks, five of them on the cuisine of her native Morocco.

"Mint Tea and Minarets: A Banquet of Moroccan Memories" is a memoir with recipes and focuses on Dar Zitoun, her family’s Moorish riad near her hometown of Casablanca. The book was selected as Best Book Arab Cuisine USA by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards and her French translation is soon to appear in eBook format. Her "Cooking at the Kasbah: Recipes from my Moroccan Kitchen" is now in its 10th printing from Chronicle Books.
