"Citizen Artist" is centered in the San Ysidro neighborhood of San Diego, performed in collaboration with eleven young people. "Citizen Artist" explores methods of art-making with people, where they live, about the issues that affect them and their neighborhood.

Andrew Sturm's public art practice merges artistic and architectural ways of working with a desire to empower everyday people to participate in rebuilding the public discourse and public imagination that we have collectively lost.

The ultimate aim of this work is to reshape our cities and public institutions into more just, equitable and interesting forms. "Citizen Artist" is Andrew Sturm’s MFA thesis show.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
