Bria Skonberg

An emerging powerhouse on the New York jazz scene, Bria Skonberg’s unique ability to reimagine standards through a modern prism has her “poised to be one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation,” says The Wall Street Journal.

Skonberg is a singer/songwriter/trumpeter with an adventurous music style rooted in New Orleans jazz and blues, world percussion, soul, and cabaret. Noted as a millennial “shaking up the jazz world,” according to Vanity Fair, in 2013 she earned a Jazz Journalists’ Association nomination for “Up and Coming Jazz Artist of The Year” and is included in DownBeat Magazine’s Rising Star Critics’ Poll for 2013/2014.

To date, Skonberg has performed at some 100 festivals worldwide. She is the co-founder of the New York Hot Jazz Camp and New York Hot Jazz Festival. Further accolades include Best Vocal and Best Trumpet awards from Hot House Jazz Magazine (2014-15). She has recently been honored with a New York Bistro award for “Outstanding Jazz Artist.” In 2017, Skonberg was the JUNO winner for the category of Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.
