Water has long been a favorite theme of artists, poets and composers throughout the ages and crossing bodies of water is a primary functions of many bridges throughout the world.

SACRA/PROFANA will be performing music with themes of water and bridges by some of the most important composers of the last 100 years. Joining them will be several of the exceptional student participants of our 2017 Summer Choral Intensive.

“Water has been a favorite subject of poets, painters and musicians since the beginning of recorded history. While choral music is relatively late to the game, there are a number of stunning choral pieces with water as a thematic element. This season we have been exploring the idea of "building bridges" and for this concert we will feature repertoire about water, metaphorical bridges, and even actual bridges.” Juan Carlos Acosta, Associate Artistic Director
