FREE movie night! Grab some blankets and chairs and join us starting sundown (approximately 8 p.m.) on the Botanical Garden Lawn.

The Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is brought vividly to life amidst the spectacle, color, and music of Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival. Free-spirited trolley driver Orfeu falls for the lovely newcomer Eurydice on the eve of Carnival, but their joy is short-lived as they soon find themselves pursued both by Orfeu’s jealous fiancée and by the masked figure of Death. (1959, Rated PG, 107 min. In Portuguese with English subtitles.)

Screen on the Green brings free films at sundown every Thursday in August. Take a picnic and join us under the stars for our summer tradition.

See our summer film schedule at sdmart.org/film.
