Balboa Park boasts 17 museums and cultural institutions with an incredible diversity of collections. From local San Diego history, to the history of flight, trains, or automobiles, to the workmanship of the old masters, and the arts, crafts, and culture of people near and far, recent and historical.

Botanical Building - Reopening announcement pending

Centro Cultural de la Raza - Reopening announcement pending

Fleet Science Center - Effective July 7 local San Diego officials called for tighter restrictions to curb the rising number of Covid-19 cases. As a result of that decision, the Fleet is required to temporarily close. According to state and local guidance, the second closure is estimated to last three weeks (through July 28, 2020).

House of Pacific Relations - Reopening announcement pending

Japanese Friendship Garden and Tea Pavilion - as of July 7, JFG’s indoor spaces (Exhibit Hall and Inamori Pavilion) will be closed to the public. Public hours will remain as 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., last admission at 5 p.m., daily.

Marston House - Reopening announcement pending

Mingei International Museum - Will remain closed for renovations

Museum of Photographic Arts - Temporarily closed beginning July 7

The Old Globe - Reopening announcement pending

San Diego Air & Space Museum - closed from July 7 to July 28

San Diego Art Institute - Reopening announcement pending

San Diego Automotive Museum - Temporarily closed beginning July 7

San Diego History Center - Temporarily closed beginning July 7

San Diego Model Railroad Museum - Temporarily closed beginning July 7

San Diego Museum of Man - Temporarily closed beginning July 7

San Diego Natural History Museum (theNAT) - closed from July 7 to July 28

San Diego Zoo - The San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are outdoor destinations and remain open. We continue to monitor the ongoing changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic

The San Diego Museum of Art - closed from July 7 to July 28. Panama 66 is currently open.

Spanish Village Art Studios - Partial reopening July 15, full reopening August 1.
