Hey loves!

We are doing a sit-in/sing-in on Juneteenth (Friday the 19th) at 4 p.m. called Artists 4 Black Lives. We are gathering safely and following social distancing guidelines. So wear masks please! (We will have a limited amount available to hand out.)

Location: Park Blvd and Presidents Way entrance to Balboa Park (across from the Navy Hospital, near Pepper Grove playground and Centro Cultura de la Raza). But we will be starting by hanging art pieces at Laurel St. Bridge.

If you have art pieces: We will be displaying them at Laurel St. Bridge and then you can walk over to the Park Blvd. & Presidents Way Entrance for the sit in/sing-in. (This is for everyone!)

Want to perform?: You can perform whatever you’d like to use as your voice in response to the injustices black people face in America. We just ask that all performances are unapologetically black. We are not hand holding at this event nor trying to make anyone feel comfortable. With that said, we are also not sending a message of hate.
Don't worry! You don’t have to sing! You can dance, read a poem, do a monologue, you can paint, you can even juggle if that’s how you're feeling! We are coming together to use our talents/our art to teach and express! You know the usual!
I will need any music and the name of your piece by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 17th. Send to

Want to support in person?: Please bring an open heart, a listening ear, and maybe a sign or two! Don’t forget water and snacks for yourself!

Prefer to be behind the camera?: Photographers, videographers, and anyone with a camera are welcome! Please use #Artists4BlackLives & #BlackLivesMatter

Can’t attend but want to help/support?: Individually wrapped snacks and water are a must because we know it’ll be hot! Also ice, giant plastic tubs, wagons, Gatorade, Powerade, masks, and signs are all welcomed! You can drop off at the location an hour before or email me to arrange a drop off ahead of time. Monetary donations please Venmo to @EboniMuse w/ A4BL as the memo.

No matter how you support we ask that you please invite people and share this info with everyone you know! Tell other black folks so we can get more of us out there speaking our hearts!

Some allies are invited to perform but mostly to listen, love, and echo.

-Love Eboni Muse
