The San Diego Model Railroad Museum invites you to join us for the 2nd installment of a virtual lecture series called Modeler Citizens on Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m. on Zoom.

Learn the unique railroading history of America's Finest City with author & historian Jim Price! Jim Price will present an illustrated talk, “San Diego’s Streetcars: From Boom to Bust and Back Again,” discussing the early days of railroad construction and operation in San Diego County, with emphasis on the San Diego Electric Railway which served San Diego City and County from 1891 to 1949. Then Jim will discuss the construction, operations, and plans for today’s San Diego Trolley system, which started in July 1981 – almost 40 years ago! The talk will conclude with information about the Streetcar Museum at the historic National City Depot.

The Modeler Citizen Series is donation-based. Register by donating what you wish, and your gift will ensure that the San Diego Model Railroad Museum can continue programming during these current closures and well in to the future.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
