Join a ranger for a guided hike on the Santa Ysabel Loop Trail.

Learn about the history, plants and wildlife of the Santa Ysabel and Julian area. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Preserve and the Santa Ysabel Valley. This trail follows the path of one of the earliest County-owned public roads in San Diego. The Coleman Toll road, built in the late 1870s, was the main route to Julian from the West.

The 3.5-mile hike has an elevation gain of about 500 feet in the first half-mile. This is a family-friendly hike and dogs are allowed, but they must be on a leash. Bring sturdy shoes, plenty of water and a snack for the trail. The hike starts at 10 a.m. sharp, so plan to arrive a little early. Call 760-765-4098 for more information. Meet at the Santa Ysabel Nature Center, 22135 Highway 79, Santa Ysabel 92070.

This event is free and all ages are welcome!

*Masks are required and guests should maintain safe social distancing.
