Read the KPBS feature:
A New Generation Of Artists Imagines A Dismantled Future
A postcolonial, post-gender world is imagined in a new group exhibition at The Front gallery in San Ysidro, featuring work from LaRissa Rogers, Fox Maxy, Yasmine Kasem, Carolina Montejo and more.
By Julia Dixon Evans

From the gallery:
AND WE WILL SING IN THE TALL GRASS AGAIN: postcolonial futurities at the end of gender,’ an upcoming exhibition opens July 1.

Opening reception: July 1 at 6 p.m.
Sidro Saturdays: concerts and performances every 3rd Saturday of the month 6-9 p.m.
New gallery hours: Tuesday through Friday 10-5 p.m. (closed for lunch 1-2 p.m.), Saturday 11-6 p.m. (closed for lunch 2-3 p.m.)

Join us is in exploring how we can encounter new worlds which exist beyond the colonial mentalities that regulate us to this day. “AND WE WILL SING…’ proposes a queer counter-narrative that conjures portals towards decolonial futures, gender apocalypse, and first and foremost, a glimpse at the possibilities beyond borders / binaries.
