Striking in their detail, John Taylor’s miniature reproductions evoke the organic qualities of aging, decay and death. By combining the spontaneous use of materials, careful research and innovative patina techniques, Taylor’s works are at once timeless portals to the real and imagined past and frozen glimpses of some of the most revolutionary yet long-forgotten maritime vessels and airships.

In the Oceanside Museum of Art lobby, "Ghost Fleet" will feature a collection of approximately fourteen mixed media ships created within the last five years.

Meet the Artist John Taylor and learn more about his process on February 25th at 2:00 p.m. The talk is complimentary with museum admission and free for OMA members, students and military.

The museum is located at 704 Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside, California (Google Maps) within walking distance from the Oceanside transit center with Amtrak, Coaster, Sprinter and Metrolink stops.
