  • WHEN Ongoing from now until December 31, 2019[days & times]
  • WHERE City of San Diego, San Diego, CA
    Map | Website
  • AGES All ages
  • COST $25 - $400

I Love A Clean San Diego partners with the City of San Diego’s Think Blue to provide stenciling kits with all of the materials you will need to paint a pollution warning message above storm drains.

This is a two-step process: first, your group identifies the area and drain locations (either on-foot or virtually via Google maps) and second, you head out to paint! The kits are only available and to be used for storm drains within the City of San Diego; if you are outside the City of San Diego and have permission from a school or community to paint on the drains, we can discuss alternative options.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer on your schedule: it is an ongoing program available to you when you can volunteer!

These kits may be checked out for up to four weeks. They are available only with a $25 cash or check deposit per kit (checks can be made out to I Love A Clean San Diego) that will be returned to you once we receive the kit back clean and intact. Any damaged items will be deducted from your deposit. Each kit provides enough supplies (paint, brushes, a stencil, gloves, instructions, etc.) to paint about 12-15 drains. Once you have scheduled a check-out date, you can pick up the kit at our office, located at 2508 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 150, San Diego, 92106. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Contact Carly Keen, Community Programs Coordinator at I Love A Clean San Diego, to learn more and reserve your kit at or (619) 704-2774.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
