The Bonita Museum is working with Filipino-American artists Benito Bautista and Emma Francisco to collect clothing for "Tela-Novela" (Stories on Fabric) a new art installation which will be part of the "Sine Kwento" (Film and Stories) exhibition in November 2020 at the museum.

The installation tells the stories of Filipino immigrants through a community quilt of personal clothing, weaving the ambitions, dreams, imaginations as well as the contributions of many generations of Filipinos into a site specific piece. "Tela Novela" art installation is in collaboration with the Silayan Filipina National Organization and other Filipino American creatives and artists.

The artists are asking the Filipino and Filipino American community to donate their work clothes (washed) from any profession, cultural and regional garments, student uniforms, sports uniforms, etc. to the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center. The collected clothing will be part of an art installation by Benito Bautista and Emma Francisco entitled "Tela-Novela" and will not be returned.

Clothing can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday thru Friday at the Bonita Museum located at 4355 Bonita Road, Bonita CA. 91902. Please include your name, age and importance and/or sentimental value of the clothes you are donating.

Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice. Always check the event organizer's website for the most updated schedule before attending.
