Thursday, October 18, 2007
The head of the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council is leaving his post, an official with the organization confirmed today.
As secretary-treasurer of the organization, which represents 110 unions with more than 100,000 members, Jerry Butkiewicz is an influential proponent for labor issues in San Diego and around the county.
The Labor Council official, who did not want to be identified, declined to say why Butkiewicz was stepping down, and he could not be reached for comment about his departure.
