Finding Common Ground at the Australian-American Leadership Dialogue

Tom Fudge : Australia holds a prominent place in the imagination of the English-speaking world. According to history, and stereotype, it's the place that was founded by British inmates. It's where you throw another shrimp on the barbie, drink beer, sheer sheep, and don't shy away from a fight. But, Australia is also a rather small country, with a population of just over 20 million. Many Americans see Australia as a progressive society, but not one that plays a major role on the world stage.

Yet, dozens of American and Australian leaders are in San Diego today for the Australian-American Leadership Dialogue . It's taking place now at the campus of UCSD.
