Maureen Cavanaugh : President Barack Obama addressed a meeting of health care reform advocates recently, saying that now, at a time when new ideas are critically needed in our country, is the best time to finally address America's health care crisis. It is well known that more than 46 million Americans have no health insurance and many more are not adequately insured.
While not all, but many, policy-makers and politicians agree something must be done to fix our health-insurance system, there is no real consensus on how that should be done.
We'll find out the kind of health care reform the League of Women Voters would like to see, and what the chances are their ideas will be accepted.
