San Diego Public Library Seeks Local Authors for Exhibition

This year marks the 45th year the San Diego Public Library has hosted its Local Authors Exhibit. The Exhibit aims to nurture writers, foster the pursuit of the writing arts, and create and recognize local literary talents. Local authors are invited to submit their work for a chance to be part of the exhibit. The deadline for submitting books is December 1, 2010.

The Exhibit will run the entire month of February 2011 in the lobby of the Central Library downtown. Participants will be invited to attend a special exhibition preview and author’s reception prior to the public unveiling. This year, for the first time in the Exhibition’s history, publications will also be displayed in an online gallery, along with author photos and publishing information.

The San Diego Public Library has long hosted special events for authors including book discussions, writing workshops and author talks, where writers are able to interact directly with their readers as they share, sell, and sign their books. "We present this event for reading interest as well as the opportunity to highlight the diverse and abundant talent we have locally," said San Diego Public Library Director, Deborah Barrow.
