Monday is the voter registration deadline for the Feb. 11 San Diego mayoral runoff election and a ballot measure in Solana Beach.

Anyone who hasn't done so before, has recently moved or changed their name needs to register, according to the county Registrar of Voters office.

The race for San Diego mayor pits David Alvarez against Kevin Faulconer -- both members of the City Council. They won the most votes in a special election in November. The winner will finish the nearly three years left in the term of Bob Filner, who stepped down Aug. 30.

Registration forms are available online at www.sdvote.com, the registrar's office, U.S. Post Offices, public libraries, City Clerk offices and Department of Motor Vehicles offices. Election materials are available in English, Spanish, Filipino, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Registrar Michael Vu said the forms must be postmarked, delivered or completed online by 11:59 p.m. Monday.

Early voting is already under way at the registrar's new location in Kearny Mesa, at 5600 Overland Ave. Voters can cast their ballots there from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays until Election Day, when the hours will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Registered voters have until Feb. 4 to request a mail ballot.

"When you get your mail ballot, vote it and send it back right away," said Registrar Michael Vu. "We can start processing that ballot so it's ready to count right when the polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day."

In Solana Beach, voters will decide Proposition B, which would allow special use permits to be issued for the Fletcher Cove Community Center.
