California Airman Dies In Germany

The Department of Defense has yet to release a cause of death for Staff Sgt. Nathan L. Tinsley, a 27-year-old airman from Eureka, California.

According to a news release from Ramstein Air Base, Tinsley died in a town called Schwedelbach just outside the base "at approximately 2:15 p.m. October 26."

Tinsley was assigned to the 86th Maintenance Squadron. Brig. Gen. Patrick X. Mordente, 86th Airlift Wing commander, said of Tinsley:

"The 86th Airlift Wing lost a valuable member of its Air Force family. Staff Sgt. Tinsley was a respected member of Team Ramstein and will be missed by his unit and all who had the opportunity to serve with him.

"Our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss continue to be with his family, friends and coworkers."
Tinsley wrote on his Facebook page that he was a graduate of Modesto High School and also attended the Community College of the Air Force.
