San Diego Had A Warm, Dry January

With a mean temperature of 60.8 degrees, last month was the eighth warmest January in the San Diego area on record, the National Weather Service reported Monday.

Last month was also the 31st-driest January ever documented in the county, with a total of 0.42 of an inch of precipitation measured in the county, according to the weather service.

Elsewhere in Southern California, the first 31 days of the year added up to the fifth warmest January for Big Bear Lake (38.2 degrees), Palm Springs (62.3), Riverside (58.8) and Santa Ana (62.1), the weather service reported.
