A brush fire blackened about three acres alongside State Route 67 near San Vicente Reservoir Tuesday, forcing a partial closure of the highway but posing no structural threats, authorities reported.

The blaze erupted for unknown reasons shortly after 9 a.m. on a roadside slope near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road in the Foster area, according to Cal Fire.

Crews blocked off one northbound lane of the state route while extinguishing the flames, which took about 45 minutes.
