The agreement Wednesday comes three months after the June primary that sent Harris, the state attorney general, and Sanchez, an Orange County congresswoman, into a November runoff.

The race to replace retiring Democrat Barbara Boxer has been largely overshadowed by the presidential contest, and many voters remain undecided.

Harris has held a steady edge in polling and fundraising.

The 2024 primary election is March 5. Find in-depth reporting on each race to help you understand what's on your ballot.
