Celebrate the Resplendent New Series and Go Behind the Throne With Stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Series Creator/Writer Daisy Goodwin and More
PBS gives the first season of this regal new MASTERPIECE series a royal sendoff fit for a queen with “Victoria After-Party.” Popular British radio and television host Jonathan Ross chats with series creator/writer Daisy Goodwin; production designer Michael Howells; costume designer Rosalind Ebbutt; and cast members, including Rufus Sewell, who stars as Lord Melbourne, Victoria’s first prime minister and confidant, Nell Hudson, who plays Miss Skerrett, and others from the stellar cast.
Plus, watch an intimate behind-the-scenes interview with Jenna Coleman, who portrays the diminutive teenager who overnight became queen and the most powerful woman in the world.
With a majestic selection of clips from Season 1 and a tantalizing peek at Season 2, “Victoria After-Party” includes behind-the-scenes anecdotes and favorite moments from the cast and creators as they discuss the dramatic twists and turns, scandal, corruption and political intrigue faced by the young sovereign.
Creator Daisy Goodwin shares never-before-revealed secrets about VICTORIA, and costume designer Rosalind Ebbutt discusses the challenges of creating historically accurate clothing. Others discuss the romance and reign of the girl behind the famous monarch and whether Victoria was “Victorian,” and offer thoughts on whether the queen will “obey” her foreign prince.
Viewers will be put to the test with queenly quizzes, challenging them to:
• Define slang from the era, such as “bang up to the elephant” and “chuckaboo”
• Who Said It − identify whether statements such as “being pregnant is an occupational hazard of being a wife” were made by Queen Victoria, Kim Kardashian or Eleanor Roosevelt
• Victori-In or Victori-Out − did historic events happen within the Victorian era or outside of that time period?
“Victoria After-Party” keeps the party going, even after the last episode has aired.
