The return of the crime series set against a stunning coastal backdrop sees high-flying solicitor Jane Kennedy in the Devon town she left as a teenager, investigating sudden or unexplained deaths in her role as coroner.

Working alongside local police detective Davey, her childhood sweetheart, and with a new and intriguing case to tackle in each episode — starting with the discovery of a body — Jane’s empathy and sharp instincts lead her to the secrets and complicated relationships behind each death.

THE CORONER mixes mystery, crime fighting and jeopardy with the warm, lighthearted tone of Jane’s relationships with her colleagues, family and the local community. In this new series, the chemistry between Jane and Davey remains as palpable as ever — will this old flame finally be reignited?

EPISODE GUIDE:

Episode 1: “The Drop Zone” airs Friday, March 24 at 9 p.m. - Jane's fear of heights is put to the test when she and Davey investigate a skydiving accident and discover that someone has tampered with the parachute.

Episode 2: “Perfectly Formed” airs Friday, March 31 at 9 p.m. - When building work at an abandoned cottage unearths a child's hidden remains, Jane uncovers other well-kept family secrets.

Episode 3: “Those In Peril” airs Friday, April 7 at 9 p.m. - After a hoax callout, a volunteer in the Lighthaven lifeboat crew drowns. Jane suspects foul play, but Davey is sceptical - until other volunteers start to be targeted.

Episode 4: “The Beast of Lighthaven” airs Friday, April 14 at 9 p.m. - When a local journalist tries to convince the people of Lighthaven that there is a big cat on the moors, nobody believes him, until the discovery of his mauled body.

Episode 5: “The Captain's Pipe” airs Friday, April 21 at 9 p.m. - When Mick's rival landlord is found dead on the beach, Jane is forced to try to clear his name before he is charged with murder.

Episode 6: “Life” airs Friday, April 28 at 9 p.m. - A death in custody brings Jane into prison and face to face with notorious child killer Sidney Sutton. Jane starts to hope that she might be able to use this case to find the final resting place of his teenage victim.

Episode 7: “Perfect Pair” airs Friday, May 5 at 9 p.m. - The mystery of why a window cleaner is found dead next to a sports car he doesn't own leaves Jane with questions for a property entrepreneur she suspects is hiding something.

Episode 8: “The Foxby Affair” airs Friday, May 12 at 9 p.m. - To explain the sudden death of a reclusive woman at a remote address near Lighthaven, Jane must first solve the mysterious disappearance of a notorious, aristocratic playboy from decades before.

Episode 9: “Pieces Of Eight” airs Friday, May 19 at 9 p.m. - Lighthaven's Pirate Festival provides the perfect cover for a robbery, leaving Davey giving chase while Jane tries to discover why a faceless man has washed up on the beach.

Episode 10: “Crash” airs Friday, May 26 at 9 p.m. - Jane is reconnected with an old school friend when she tries to find out who left a teenage girl to die after a car crash.
