San Diego Symphony Orchestra plays John Williams' score in outdoor concert

For the second time this week, San Diego audiences will have a chance to watch a film with live music. This time it’s the San Diego Symphony presenting "Star Wars – A New Hope" in concert Wednesday night.

John Williams’ opening music — played over the "Star Wars logo" and title crawl — has become so iconic that you’d be hard pressed to find a filmgoer anywhere in the world who doesn’t recognize it. Williams delivered a grand symphonic score evocative of old Hollywood swashbucklers and adventure films. Now the San Diego Symphony Orchestra offers the thrill of seeing "tar Wars — A New Hope" with the score played live as part of its Bayside Summer Nights Special Concert series.

Hearing music played live, especially by a full orchestra to a film as deliriously fun as the original "Star Wars," is guaranteed to give you goosebumps and to transform going to the movies into something transcendent.
