Embark on a spiritual exploration into the heart and soul of the centuries-old Hawaiian sport of surfing.

Guided by some of the most influential individuals in the history of the sport, "Liquid Stage" charts surfing's evolution — from its Polynesian origins to its familiar presence on the beaches of Southern California and the world.

Through interviews with legendary surfers who have shaped and changed the sport, rare historical footage and stunning water cinematography, "Liquid Stage" celebrates surfers' unique relationship with the sea.

The film provides an insider's glimpse into the surfers' lifestyles, innovations and beliefs through interviews with surfers Woody Brown, Rabbit Kekai and Rell Sunn, big wave riders Greg Noll and Mickey Munoz, and surfboard designers Carl Ekstrom, Skip Frye and Rusty Preisendorfer.
