Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024 at 9:30 p.m. on KPBS TV / Stream now with the PBS App + Encore Saturday, Jan. 20 at 3:30 p.m. on KPBS TV

On this episode, host Jorge Meraz explores the finest coffee spots in Tijuana — from a roastery that purchases and roasts 100 percent Mexican specialty coffee beans — to a cafe that pioneered specialty coffee, and whose brewing sensei began his career in the fields of Chiapas growing coffee beans, whose expertise rivals none. He also visits a seafood taco place that had its origins on a food truck. He samples a shrimp adobada taco, deep fried octopus taco, wrapped-fried cheese taco with avocado and chipotle sauce, and a starfruit tostado.

Locations: La Carreta Taco Shop, Cocina Urbana de TJ, Sospresso, The Art of Coffee.
