Community members in Hillcrest are responding to a shooting spree that shattered the windows of The Asian Bistro restaurant on University Avenue last week.

A suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting. Incredibly, no one was hit by one of the 19 bullets fired during the attack. The San Diego County District Attorney’s office said a motive is still unclear. Law enforcement is investigating all potential motives, including whether it is a hate crime.

But residents are rattled and on Wednesday community members are being invited to take part in an emergency town hall meeting to talk about preventing violent crimes in the community.
