Logan Jenkins published his final column in The San Diego Union-Tribune Monday after 22 years at the newspaper and more than 35 as a journalist.

In his more than 3,000 columns, Jenkins wrote about everything from water wars to cock fights, not just one political scandal and even about being kissed as a 10-year-old by Marilyn Monroe, maybe.

A fourth-generation San Diegan, Jenkins often included family lore in his columns using personal anecdotes to connect with readers.
