Rep. Susan Davis (D-San Diego) visits San Diego on Jan. 13, 2014 to discuss the impact of Congress’ decision to let long-term unemployment benefits expire.
The Congresswoman discusses why she moved to support an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

As the impeachment probe against President Trump continues to intensify, members of Congress are preparing to return to Washington next week after a two-week recess.

While there's some concern the focus on the ongoing impeachment probe could take up all the oxygen in Washington, San Diego Democratic Congresswoman Susan Davis is hopeful Congress can get back to business and tackle prescription drug costs, gun reform and a trade pact with Mexico.

"I think that's a concern, but I don't know why that has to be," she said. "We're fortunate that California certainly is far more aggressive about this (gun laws) than in other areas but we feel this is an important national issue...the U.S.-Mexico, Canada agreement, we are pretty close. And that's an issue I hope we can work through and have bi-partisan support."
