A new exhibit at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park teaches visitors some of what scientists know about how the human brain works.

In "Brain: The World Inside Your Head" visitors can compare the brains of different animals, explore the importance of sleep and learn about some of the latest brain research. The exhibit also allows visitors to walk through an enlarged model of a brain.

"It's a space where we have created large scale reproductions of these neurons ... that actually fire electricity and light and glow as your brain processes, so you'll actually walk through this kind of mixed web of neuron cells," said Steve Snyder, the president and CEO of the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park.

The all-ages exhibit is on display at the museum through April 26 and coincides with San Diego Museum Month. During the month of February, admission at the Fleet and more than 40 other museums, is half-priced with a coupon that can be picked up at most local libraries.

Snyder joined Midday Edition to talk about the Fleet's new exhibit on the human brain.
