Brian Jones Discusses His Second Run To Represent The 50th Congressional District

One of the Republicans running for the seat is Brian Jones, who represents parts of north and east San Diego County in the state senate. He also ran for the 50th Congressional District in 2008.

One of the most closely watched elections in San Diego County is the race to replace Duncan D. Hunter, who resigned from the 50th Congressional District after pleading guilty to misspending campaign finance funds.

There are four leading candidates running to replace Hunter, three Republicans and one Democrat. One of the Republicans running for the seat is Brian Jones, who represents parts of north and east San Diego County in the state senate. He also ran for the 50th Congressional District seat in 2008. He came in second behind Hunter.

The top two vote-getters in the March 3 primary will advance to the November general election. The 50th Congressional District has a population of 750,000 and covers much of north and east San Diego County.

Jones joined Midday Edition on Wednesday to discuss his campaign.
