Learn at Home Resources During the COVID-19 Pandemic & Beyond

Public media is a public service that has the importance of children’s education embedded in its DNA. For 50 years, PBS has been America’s classroom across all geographic boundaries, races, and income levels. In March 2020, KPBS answered the call to ensure our TK through 12th grade young people had access to learning while at-home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As schools prepare for a return to full-time, in-person instruction this fall, KPBS has resources to help parents and caregivers combat “summer slide” and make sure their students are ready for the next grade.

Summer 2021 Programming - Camp TV

Welcome to Camp TV - a day camp experience in your living room! Camp TV is hosted by a head counselor played by Zachary Noah Piser, a Broadway performer (“Dear Evan Hansen,” “Wicked”) who guides campers as they learn through play. Head counselor Zach kicks off each episode with a welcome song and announces the day’s theme. Zach then guides campers through a variety of activities — exploring nature, math, science, the arts, movement, storytelling, and writing.

Content partners include the New York Public Library, the New Victory Theater, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Bedtime Math, Wildlife Conservation Society, the Memphis Zoo, and more.

Tune into KPBS Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Camp TV is available June 21, 2021 - September 3, 2021.

Educational Programming on KPBS 2

KPBS is broadcasting a California state standards-aligned educational television schedule, created by PBS SoCal/KCET and the Los Angeles Unified School District. This TV schedule was developed to help schools and districts bridge the digital divide and provide equitable access to learning for all students at home, regardless of access to internet or computers.
