Port of Entry Podcast: Crossing The Border For Love

What happens when you fall in love with someone who lives on the other side of the U.S.-Mexico border – a border that’s home to one of the most contentious walls in the world?

From PRX and KPBS, “Port of Entry” recently produced a series featuring cross-border love stories.

The series features diverse stories from Latinx, Chicanx and other transborder voices not often heard. And their love stories are diverse, too, from more traditional romantic relationships; to falling in and out of love with the city in which you live; to following your heart when it tells you to dedicate your life to helping others.

We wrap up our series of cross-border love stories with a woman who totally changed her life; dropping what she was doing so she could help take care of some of the border region’s most vulnerable kids instead. It’s a story about kids in need of love, and one woman’s work to turn her own personal pain into power and purpose.
