San Diego Watercolor Society
The San Diego Watercolor Society showcases more than 700 watermedia artists from around the world. First time visitors are pleased to find such an impressive facility dedicated to presenting watermedia art.
Award-winning art and internationally acclaimed artists are only part of the story. The SDWS is also an important supporter of arts education for all ages. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SDWS performs a variety of services for educational institutions in the San Diego area.
On the first Friday of each month, The San Diego Watercolor Society hosts a reception to present the month's new exhibition. From as many as 200-300 pieces presented, the top 95 are selected for exhibition and sale.
Workshops and Classes
Workshops are held in our beautiful, light-filled education center adjacent to the SDWS Gallery. The occasional plein-aire workshops are held outdoors, usually on the campus of NTC Liberty Station, in the acres of gardens and historic buildings.
The 4,000 square foot gallery is located in THE ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station (the former Naval Training Center on Point Loma). With dozens of organizations in this beautifully renovated campus, the area is becoming a major hub for San Diego's arts & culture.
