  • Water for People San Diego Committee along with Avista and KSDS Jazz 88.3 are proud to present Jazz on Tap 2023, a charity Jazz concert to support Water For People, a global nonprofit promoting the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services. The jazz festival will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Quartyard. Doors open at 2:15 p.m., with live music starting at 3 p.m. grooving away until 9:40 p.m. There will be food, drinks and live high-energy jazz music, highlighting local artists in a fun outdoor setting. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. All ages; a beer garden is 21+ only. Because of a Padres game at 5:40 p.m., public transportation and ridesharing are encouraged, as parking prices will be high and limited close to game time. The venue is easily accessible via the blue or orange trolley line. The closest trolley stop is one block away at Park and Market Station.   • The San Diego Veterans For Peace will be setting up its Arlington West Memorial in front of the USS Midway Museum to honor the 288 brothers and sisters from Southern California who died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The press and public are encouraged to stop by, honor the fallen, read their names, and reflect on their sacrifice. Chapter members from the various military services will be present to answer questions about the memorial and to ask the public to reflect on these wars and ongoing wars around the globe. For this album, Castellanos guides listeners on a musical journey through trials and triumphs, through the personal battles, victories and miracles that have affected his career and life. Featuring culturally significant Latin tunes, as well as homages to family and friendship, near career-ending tragedies and more, the album serves as a timeline and Thank You to his entire fanbase for the love and support offered him during times of difficulty and transition. With veteran pianist Joshua White arranging, the album also features Christopher Hollyday on Sax, Tyler Kreutel on drums and offers bassist John Murray’s first performance on an album. The performance of the album, a special engagement in the Copley Auditorium at The San Diego Museum of Art, will feature the recording band with the exception of John Murray. Embellishing the auditorium for these events will be the addition of a professional sound and lighting team. SEATING: Seating will be general admission.
