San Diego will phase out some of its county-run vaccination sites due to a significant drop in demand for COVID-19 vaccines, officials said Friday.

The county's Human Relations Commission announced Friday that it will hold a special meeting next week in response to outrage over tortillas being flung at a largely Latino team after it lost a championship basketball game at Coronado High School.

Mayor Todd Gloria said the agreements "will help us attract and retain top-flight personnel, enhance public safety and support working families."
