Elmer joined KPBS in 2014 as a part-time assistant where he was responsible for the coordination of the Producers Club. In 2016, Elmer began supporting the development department in their major gifts and capital campaign efforts.
Elmer graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in health science. During his time at SDSU, Elmer was on the executive boards of the College of Health and Human Services Council, Students for Public Health, Scholars for Success, and Compact Scholars Program. He was an intern at Strive! San Diego and worked with local farmer’s markets, grocery stores, and restaurants to develop initiatives that improve nutrition and promote healthy living. He was also a grant writer for Operation Samahan Inc. which seeks to better serve the indigent, low-income, uninsured, and under-served individuals and families.
He loves to travel, both across the U.S. and abroad. He also enjoys watching movies and sports, attending San Diego Comic Con, and spending time outdoors-especially on the beach.
