The City Council voted in favor of a controversial plan to build a 12-story mixed-use residential development in the heart of Hillcrest.

Contested Hillcrest development plan approved in City Council vote

Opponents of the proposed Hillcrest development plan argue that the unique characteristics of the community will be infringed upon by an out-of-place building, while proponents say that the public benefit of the project – especially parking availability and financial impact to local businesses – is being overlooked.
