Assistant News Producer/Penner Fellow Intern
This position is geared toward journalists starting out in their careers - either recently graduated from college, in their final year of college, or starting a new career in journalism. Get hands-on experience assisting with broadcast news production for KPBS Evening Edition and KPBS Roundtable. The position is responsible for helping us increase the quality of programming in our TV and radio broadcasts that focus on local issues, including politics and governance, business, education, healthcare, environment, science and technology – stories that directly impact the lives of San Diegans. This position is open until July 2, 2020 at which time applications will be reviewed.

Freelance General Assignment Reporter
The freelance general assignment reporter covers news of local relevance and often national significance, focusing on issues with greatest impact in our lives. These stories will be carefully grounded in fact, but can still be playful or moving as the subject matter requires. The Reporter will pitch news stories, or be assigned stories by the editors, and may be assigned to anchor radio newscasts and appear as a guest or host on KPBS TV and radio programs. This position is open until filled.

Marketing & Communications Assistant - Join our team and get hands-on experience working on marketing and communications projects including events, reports, press releases, marketing campaigns, and social media messaging. Key events include the GI Film Festival San Diego, KPBS Hall of Fame Celebration, and program/series screenings.
