Museum A Month
As a KPBS reporter, I launched the Museum A Month series to spotlight the diverse museums and cultural institutions that shape San Diego.
I was a fan of KPBS even before I came to work here, partly because of the high standard of cultural programming coming from PBS, NPR and KPBS itself.
I naturally gravitated toward those types of stories. Years ago, I started covering Museum Month, when museums and cultural institutions throughout San Diego County offer half-off admission. Doing those stories really opened my eyes to the amazing variety of such institutions across our region.
That led to organic discussions with then-Executive Director of the Museum Council Bob Lehman. It didn’t take long for us to come to the conclusion that the museums throughout the county deserved more regular coverage — and that led to “Museum A Month.”
I hope you enjoy watching, listening to and reading these stories as much as I enjoy bringing them to you!
