Above:

New health concerns are arising over a common chemical in our everyday lives. You can find it in baby bottles, plastic containers, canned soup and dental sealants. You may not have heard of Bisphenol A, but chances are it's in your body. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently found the chemical in 95 percent of Americans tested. The plastics industry maintains Bisphenol A is harmless in the small doses most Americans are exposed. But a growing body of researchers say Bisphenol A increases infertility, birth defects, prostate, ovarian and breast cancers, obesity and brain changes.

Guests:

  • Dr. Joseph Scherger, UCSD School of Medicine.
  • Steve Hentges , Executive Director of Polycarbonate Bisphenol A Global Group (by phone).
