Maureen Cavanaugh: Very few people may say they like going to the dentist, but even fewer like the way they feel when they don't go. That's because healthy teeth are a sometimes forgotten aspect of good health.
Problems that affect everything from your digestion to how well you sleep can start right in your mouth. And the whole body can be affected by dental infections and bacteria. But, lots of people figure if their teeth aren't really broken there's no need to fix 'em. And when people cut back on their health care, it's often the visit to the dentist that gets the first cut.
