Roundtable: Local Schools Not Tested For Earthquake Safety

Aired 8/12/11 on KPBS Midday Edition.

When we send our children to school, we want to know they're safe, which is why it's worth paying attention to whether school buildings are ready for a possible earthquake. We know now, thanks to some diligent reporting by KPBS and Voiceofsandiego, that hundreds of school buildings in San Diego County were flagged by the state as possible risks, and many of them have never been repaired or even inspected.

Guests: Emily Alpert, education reporter, Voiceofsandiego.org

Scott Lewis, CEO, voiceofsandiego.org

Jay Paris, sports columnist, North County Times
