Rep. Scott Peters Discusses Latest Coronavirus Relief Package

The nearly $500 billion dollar package aims to help small businesses, hospitals and includes funding to expand testing.

When Washington rolled out the first CARES act last month, some analysts said the $2 trillion relief package wouldn’t be enough to help American workers and businesses survive the economic destruction of COVID-19. They were right.

Last Friday, President Trump signed an additional $484 billion bill, aimed at helping small businesses and hospitals.

And now lawmakers are debating about what may be needed in yet another relief package to help state and local governments.

Rep. Scott Peters, D-San Diego, joined Midday Edition on Monday to discuss how the San Diego region stands to benefit from the latest coronavirus aid package.
