: Today, a former congressional aide is expected testify that he told Dennis Hastert’s top aide, years ago, about Mark Foley’s sexual advances to House pages. The fallout over Congressman Foley’s indiscretions has become a potent issue in this year’s election campaign. And it could seriously harm the House leadership if it’s shown that Hastert, the House Speaker, knew what was going on.
It’s hard to tell what kind of effect “Foleygate” will have on the GOP’s chances to retain control of Congress.
