Pamela Littky's Extended Stay (Pamela Littky)

You probably already know that Citizen Video is a hip, cool neighborhood hangout where you can find unique and wonderful movies. But owner Holly Jones is committed to doing more than just renting and selling DVDs. She still gets a kick out of film as a community event and getting people out of the house to experience movies with others. So she's been working to bring local and rarely screened short films to town. Her latest discovery is Pamela Littky's documentary short Extended Stay , which screens as part of a short film program on December 20 beginning at 9pm at the Whistle Stop Bar, 2236 Fern Street.

Beginning in January, Citizen Video and UCSD Media Center and Library will collaborate with Sushi Performance and Visual Art to present the new Cinema Lounge series. According to the press release, "The Cinema Lounge series screens unique and challenging films for local audiences in an informal atmosphere that provokes thought, dialogue, and inspiration. Cinema Lounge is more than movie-going. It is film, emerging directors, local music, visual art, food, and fun." But I'll have more on that later.
